Group Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Manager - United Kingdom

Arecibo is pleased to present the newly created position of Group Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Manager for our client, a prestigious luxury hospitality organisation boasting a unique portfolio of hotels and resorts both in the UK and Europe.

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Group Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Manager will be responsible for delivering all elements of the organisations environmental sustainability and energy efficiency proposition. Working closely with key stakeholders across all departments the Group Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Manager will be accountable for creating and shaping the group wide sustainability offerings. This is an exciting, new opportunity for a proven sustainability and energy efficiency professional with a proven track record of delivering change, championing the sustainability agenda, energy savings and awareness to join this multi-site hospitality business during a period of growth and investment.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and optimise a comprehensive group-wide sustainability strategy aligned with organisational goals, legal requirements and industry best practices

  • Conduct a strategic review of the organisation’s current environmental sustainability & energy efficiency performance

  • Oversee energy and resource audits group wide, identifying and actioning areas for improvement

  • Design and deliver ambitious sustainability initiatives including; waste reduction, energy savings and reduction in carbon footprint, organisation wide

  • Manage cross-functional teams to integrate the sustainability agenda throughout the organisation

  • Negotiate and manage energy contracts

  • Develop and promote operational best practice for energy efficiency and sustainability

  • Prepare and present reports based on data and performance analysis in relation to budgets and timescales

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of working in sustainability and/or energy management ideally within the hospitality or retail industries  

  • Experience of lobbying, both internally and externally

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of relevant sustainability regulations and best practices

  • Proven experience of working with data analysis and reporting tools

  • Degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field (preferred)
