Arecibo is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Golf Operations Manager for our client, a luxury 4-star hotel and golf resort located near the Cheshire/Shropshire border. The venue features two courses, including a championship course, an 80-bedroom hotel, and a luxury spa and health club. With a thriving golf community, this role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with entrepreneurial flair to positively impact standards and operations.

Responsibilities:

As the Golf Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Staff Management: Overseeing all aspects of staff management to ensure a cohesive and motivated team.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Managing the day-to-day operations of the golf club to provide an exceptional customer journey.
  • Retail Stock Control: Effectively managing retail stock to meet the demands of the golf community.
  • Financial Reporting: Providing accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Sales and Marketing: Creating and implementing sales and marketing strategies working with other HODs to drive business growth including crating and setting KPIs for all aspects of revenue generation (green fees, buggy hire etc) and membership attraction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within the golf industry.
  • Entrepreneurial Flair: Ability to bring an entrepreneurial mindset to positively impact standards and operations.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial reporting and budget management.
  • Sales and Marketing: Experience in creating and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
  • Customer Focus: A commitment to delivering an exceptional customer journey.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of related experience as a Golf Operations Manager.
  • PGA/CMAE/Golf Management Degree preferred.
  • Strong management skills, financial focus, and sales-driven.
  • Ability to understand and explain P&L statements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in IT.
