Planned investment and growth has prompted the search for this position of Head of Internal Audit offering a commercial focus to carry out risk based audits including; finance, health and safety, energy and standards. This position presents potential to continue or move in house and take ownership of driving group wide quality and standards through effective audit process and procedures.

Role Profile:

Reporting into the Group Chief Financial officer and under the direction of the Chairman of the Audit Committee the Head of Internal Audit will be responsible for preparation of the annual audit timetable based on risk assessment, carrying out risk-based audits and adhoc investigations as required ensuring that the audit programme is always relevant and appropriate.

The key components of the financial audits will include:

  • Cash & banking
  • Debtors
  • Controls over liquor and food
  • Ensuring company accounting and control procedures are being followed
  • Balance sheet reviews
  • Identification of areas of inefficiency
  • Identification of potential cost savings
  • Highlighting potential revenue opportunities
  • Identifying good practice

The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of working within a financial and or audit environment ideally within the hospitality or retail sector
  • Experience of audit management and reporting
  • Ability to accurately complete monthly reports in a timely manner to present to the Audit Committee and Board
  • The ability to challenge and investigate discrepancies
  • The ability to manage and motivate others
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload
  • Ability to travel nationwide to visit venues and complete audits
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
